Carrie Schurr

Education can sometimes be overwhelming, but I believe that when teachers are supported so are students, which was the main reason I wanted to transition to the role of an instructional coach. I look forward to helping co-plan, co-teach, develop tasks, analyze data, provide resources, model lessons, explore new technologies, and supporting you in any other instructional needs you may have! I have experience with all middle level grades and I have taught a variety of middle school subjects, including language arts/literature, math, reading, family and consumer science, and drama. It takes a special person to be a middle school teacher, but I don't have to explain that to you :) Please do not hesitate to reach out to me; I am really here to help!

A little about me....

  • I student taught in England, which is where I caught the traveling bug. Doesn't hurt that I have a brother who lives in Hawaii. The background picture is from the plane overlooking Oahu.
  • While at Illinois State I played on the Women’s Soccer team, and continue to play on co-ed leagues for fun.
  • I am always looking for opportunities to learn and try new things. If they don't work out at least I can say I tried! Apparently hip-hop dance class isn't for me...
  • I have two Master’s Degrees: Curriculum and Instruction w/ ESL and Educational Leadership
