After spending nearly 45 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, my husband and I have finally decided to start building our dream home in Washington State. The dream became a reality over 3 years ago when we embarked on the difficult and very expensive task of building our little shack. In 2012 I moved up to our property to begin acclimating with this eclectic Norwegian town, and began cataloging the progress. I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I love being in Washington. The people are kind, the landscape is lush, and I find myself in a calmer state of mind. My immediate and extended family still live in California and I enjoy visiting, but can say my home is here.
