Scott Bader Los Angeles, slot car museum, and Vintage Slot Cars in Los Angeles

Scott Bader Los Angeles is the story of a lifelong passion turned into one of the most celebrated automotive and slot-car legacies on the West Coast. Based in Los Angeles, California, Scott Bader is a renowned collector, enthusiast, and the driving force behind some of the most remarkable slot-car and vintage automotive endeavors in the world.

Scott’s fascination with automobiles began in his youth during the 1960s slot-car boom around Los Angeles. As a boy he would ride his bike to the Revell Raceway near the city, immersing himself in the thrilling world of 1:24-scale model racing a period that would shape his life and passions.

After building a successful career in business, including decades as CEO of Inline Distributing and later leading Electric Dreams one of the largest retailers of both vintage and modern slot cars in the U.S. Scott returned to his first love: collecting and celebrating classic automotive culture.

His residence and purpose-built space in West Hollywood is home to thousands of slot cars, kits, accessories, and rare memorabilia, primarily from the golden age of slot car racing (circa 1963–1967). The collection includes meticulously preserved items many still in original packaging and is complemented by immersive displays complete with period music and multimedia that transport visitors back to the height of the hobby.

From this passion came the Los Angeles Slot Car Museum, established in 2008 as a private institution celebrating the history of slot cars and related culture. Today, the museum showcases the largest archive of 1:24 and 1:32 scale vehicles, literature, and vintage ephemera, and it’s open to the public by appointment or through virtual exhibitions.

Beyond the world of miniature racing, Scott Bader Los Angeles embodies a broader enthusiasm for motorsport and automotive heritage. He has personally competed in road racing and historic events, and his collection of full-size cars spans American classics, muscle cars, and iconic racing machinery.

Through Electric Dreams, the Los Angeles Slot Car Museum, and his public engagements including speaking, exhibitions, and contributions to hobby communities like the Model Car Hall of Fame Scott Bader continues to share his love for cars in all scales with collectors, historians, and fans around the globe.
