I have 8 years experience working in IT in varying capacities and roles.

For the past 4 years I have been working as an IT consultant implementing and customizing Oracle Retail v13 systems as well as providing support for existing live oracle retail systems from v9 through to v13.

I initially started in support and development creating modification and customization using PL/SQL, Pro*C and KSH and creating custom reports in BI Publisher 10g before moving into the role of Technical Infrastructure Consultant leveraging my background in Unix based systems to install, configure, maintain and support the application infrastructure used in Oracle Retail implementations.

I have experience installing and supporting Oracle RDBS 10g/11g, Oracle Application Server 10g, Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (Weblogic, Forms, OID, OAM, BI Publisher, WebCenter) and the Oracle Retail v13 product suite (RMS, RPM, ReIM, RESA, RIB, RETL, ARI, Allocations, RWMS, SIM, RA) including in high availability (RAC, Weblogic Clustering)

Before transitioning to OLR I spent 3 years working in research and development primarily involved in the creation of mathematical models in Octave/Matlab and development of data processing software in shell scripts, Perl and Java. I was also responsible for the production of technical documents and training for the software produced and new business workflows developed.

Additionally I was involved with providing support to system administration tasks for user desktop systems running Fedora Linux and Windows as well as a high performance blade cluster running Fedora Linux.

During this time I also performed some management roles including project management and was in charge the development and implementation of a formal project management system as well as implementing management systems and structure to achieve ISO9001 standards compliance.
