Dr. Scott Spaulding, entrepreneur and inspirational leader! Badger Veterinary Hospital’s CEO enjoys helping horse owners provide the very best health care possible while managing his practice’s two locations. A Veterinary Management Group member since 2004, he most recently founded a management group for 20 of North America’s finest mixed animal veterinary practices.
Uncanny business management skills, financial systems acumen, strategic foresight and leadership abilities allow him opportunities to educate, mentor and support entrepreneurs and professional groups seeking to improve profitability and enhance work-life balance. His extensive use of business social media applications brings him recognition as a leading expert in this rapidly changing field.
Dr. Spaulding’s problem solving reputation motivated the American Veterinary Medical Association to appoint him to the recently formed Veterinary Economic Strategy Committee; assembled to chart the course for the profession’s future economic health.
Early in Dr. Spaulding’s career, he was Steffen-Haus Kennel’s consulting veterinarian, a German Shepherd breeding and training operation with locations in Europe as well as the United States; frequent travels to and from multiple European destinations was part of his business!
Dr. Spaulding and his wife; Nancy, hail from the great state of Wisconsin; their two children, Justin and Sara, are their highest priority. Justin recently earned his college degree and completed his college football career, earning All-American honors as a record setting running back at The University of Dubuque. Sara is beginning her academic pursuits and collegiate soccer career at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. Scott and Nancy travel the country as their kid’s greatest fans, rarely missing any of their performances.
A native Wisconsinite, Dr. Spaulding is a Badger through and through, earning his bachelor degree in 1986 and his DVM in 1991 at UW-Madison.
