I'm retired. Finally. Effective 30 April 2014. And I am now pursuing happiness as a writer. My working life was dedicated to the conduct of security and counterintelligence investigations as a Special Agent of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and, later, of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). I sought and caught spies for a living. And I performed that function very well - better than most. In fact, I was one of the best in the field. Big whoop. That was then. Then is past. My secret desire since childhood was to write, to find the Mark Twain within me, and yes, perhaps to publish - but mostly, I simply wanted to write.
