Scott Eckersley
Attorney Scott Eckersley utilizes an extensive education in his position as Of Counsel at Silver Ridge Financial, LLC, in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2002, Mr. Eckersley garnered a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management in Provo. He then enrolled at Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark School of Law and the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri, where he earned a Juris Doctor in 2005. Subsequently, Scott Eckersley returned to school to complete his Master of Business Administration at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business in 2009.
Prior to assuming his current position with Silver Ridge Financial, Scott Eckersley served as General Counsel at Employers Health Network, LLC, in Springfield. In this role, he helped clients draft paperwork for corporate restructuring, investigated Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliance, and negotiated contracts.
Previously, Mr. Eckersley served the Office of the Governor of Missouri as the Deputy General Counsel and Policy Advisor, ensuring Freedom of Information Act compliance, in addition to consulting with the governor regarding insurance, health care, clemency, and judge selection. His appointment led to an interest in politics, and Mr. Eckersley ran for U.S. Congress, acquiring 64% of the votes for his district.
Mr. Eckersley's pro bono work includes acting as a Volunteer Representative with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by working with individuals from and missionaries operating in Spain and utilizing skills accrued at the University of Missouri, where he was a Graduate Spanish Instructor in 2002. He also assisted Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark School of Law as an Immigration Legal Aid, in which role he shared information about immigration law with community members.
