Scott Emmens

A veteran of the pharmaceutical industry, Scott Emmens has spent the last two years with Shire PLC, most recently as the Product Director of its Behavioral Health Business Unit. Earlier, Scott Emmens served as Shire's Senior Area Sales Director, overseeing a 250-person sales force and 30 regional directors.

Over nearly the last 20 years, Scott Emmens has earned multiple industry accolades. A consistent top performer in the territories he has led, he also has been honored for outstanding product launches and identifying $1 million in savings. One employer, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, recognized his contributions 17 times within a four-year period.

A graduate of Springfield College in Massachusetts, Scott Emmens began his career with AstraZeneca PLC, a London-based manufacturer of biologic products and pharmaceuticals. Hired as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, he marketed its cardiovascular and gastrointestinal products and surpassed sales targets. After two years, he was promoted to Regional Trainer, where he also played a role in national sales training. Later, he served as the District Sales Manager of the company's allergy, cardiovascular, central nervous system, gastroenterology, and pulmonary product lines.

Scott Emmens left AstraZeneca in 1999 to take the post of District Sales Manager with Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the U.S. arm of Japan's largest pharmaceutical enterprise. In under a year, his region went from 49th to 16th in the nation. In the years that followed, he was promoted to sales administration and director roles. In 2007, he was selected by the Vice President of Sales to expand its elite national sales team of 25 managers and 250 sales representatives. In late 2010, Mr. Emmens joined Shire.
