Scott Shannon

I have discovered that the second half of my life is even more amazing than the first! I began my professional career as an actor when I was sixteen. I went on to work in New York, Miami, and San Francisco. Later, My last and favorite role was playing the Roman emperor Caligula. I had a successful career as a computer programmer, systems analyst, and Director of MIS. During this period I received my two graduate degrees and began my voluntary Christian ministry. I also became a therapist for individuals, families, and groups. My painting got noticed by a famous interior designer and in one year I sold fourteen paintings. Then I took off for a year and traveled to all of the places I had always wanted to see; Mexico, Peru, Europe, Morocco, Egypt, Thailand, China, and Japan.

My wife of 28 years died in 2000 and a new chapter opened in my life. I opened a theater in Asheville, NC. I composed and performed 11 albums of mostly Classical music. Five of these are for sale internationally (iTunes, Amazon, etc.) and I can actually take someone out to dinner with my quarterly royalty check.

I have just published my first book on Amazon. It's called, "Walking With Jesus: How You Can Be An Authentic Christian". And there will be many more to come in fiction, children's books, an art history series, a cookbook, and translations of everything I write. Being an author and marketing my book has used almost all of the skills I have learned in the preceding decades. I've never been this busy doing things I love before.

My volunteer ministry has lasted 28 years now. I have worked and still work in prisons, jails, mental hospitals, nursing homes, and homeless shelters. And I manage an Internet ministry for people around the world.
