Scott Vannerson

Amherst, Massachusetts, United States

Currently a student at UMass - Amherst, I am working towards two degrees in Sport Management and Accounting. My goal is to combine these two to find a job in the professional sports industry. Sports have always been such a powerful part of our society in my opinion and always created ways for me to enhance my life. I am a really competitive person both with myself in the desire to improve and also with others, in actual competition. Being involved with sports is an outlet for this competitive nature which burns inside me. Something about sport and its uniqueness has always drawn me in. Doing math isn't "fun" yet I find something like analyzing data trends in sports stats is so intriguing. Reading isn't my forte but I can devour content that surrounds the sports world. It does seem unriginal but something about sports has always driven my interest and created a focal point in my life.

I was raised in the great state of Washington and hope to one day return there to work. Washington is a beautiful place which I find so enjoyable because of the balance it brings. My interests as a fan draw me into the big city of Seattle which houses teams like the Seahawks and Mariners. That being said, I don't have to venture far to be shredding the slopes of the cascades, wakeboarding one of many lakes, or skydiving in the Olympics. Living in Seattle gives me a way to satisfy all my professional and non-professional interests in life. What more could I ask for?
