A couple of decades ago I entered the interactive industry as I have with everything else in my life — full of curiosity and enthusiasm. After a few years in some of NYC’s top digital agencies I took a detour when the first dot com bubble burst in 2001 and headed to Brazil to follow a passion — a percussion instrument called the “pandeiro”. I arrived in Rio de Janeiro with only a few words of Portuguese and a basic notion of how to play the instrument, but eventually became fluent in the language, and more importantly, an internationally respected pandeiro player and bandleader. I wound up living in Brazil for over a decade. It was an amazing and challenging experience, to say the least.

While in Brazil I founded an e-commerce site called Pandeiro.com that became the go-to destination for people from around the world who are interested in the pandeiro. The site had customers in over 35 countries and after running the business for 12 years I sold it to a German company in 2016 [Disclaimer: what you see in the provided link is not what the site looked like when I was running it].

The experiences I've had as both a bandleader and business owner have proven to be extremely valuable for leading multidisciplinary teams, and effectively communicating with a wide range of personalities.

My return to digital project management came about when the highly respected global agency Huge reached out to me to work with their Rio de Janeiro office, which was in its early stages.

I returned to the US in 2014 and have been busy freelancing for several global agencies. I'm now looking to transition to a full time role at a great digital product company.
