Scott G. Hammesfahr

San Francisco, California, United States

I have had an entrepreneurial spirit since I was a young boy. I got my start selling lemonade, parking spots, and pumpkins during Northwestern University’s football games, and have been selling ever since! For the past five years, I have sold risk transfer products to help companies manage risks associated with technology, from product failures to information security breaches and business interruptions. The landscape of IT is changing dramatically, and most organizations could use a hand navigating these uncharted waters.

I enjoy traveling, reading, keeping fit and staying active, especially through outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, camping and scuba diving. In 2010, I hiked the tallest mountain in the lower 48, completed the highest marathon in the US, and “escaped” from Alcatraz. On my days off, I love to wake up, have a great cup of coffee and read The Economist or Foreign Affairs. World issues interest me deeply. I am an active member of Fair to Share, a group focusing on incubating a healthy and productive sharing economy in the Bay Area. I also work with the SF Bicycle Coalition on their bike safety and awareness program. Eventually, I hope to channel my professional energies toward promoting collaborative business models with an eye towards sustainability.
