I grew up in the small town of Ohatchee, AL. Growing up, my parents were never big into church. When I was 17 years old, I started going to a small country church with some of my friends. At first church was just a social gathering for me, but then it turned to something real. on September 10, 2007 my youth pastor, Josh, spoke a message from God's Word that really touched my heart. "What is the difference between knowing God in your head and knowing Him in your heart." I felt immediate conviction and fell to my face. It was that night in a small church that I truly gave my life to Christ. I saw how God used Josh to minister to me and thought how amazing it would be to make a difference in the lives of students, just like he did mine. I began college and found my niche with the Baptist Campus Ministries at Jacksonville State University. Through the next few years, I grew in Christ and made many wonderful friends in the process. The summer of my Sophomore year, I decided that I wanted to give my summer serving God. In the summers of 2010 I served as a summer missionary in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. After the summer, I came home and continued serving in the BCM and focusing on school. My life drastically changed that semester, when I met the lady I now call my wife. In 2011, Amber (my wife) and I dedicated our summer to serve as missionaries in Tennessee. Upon our return home we got married and immediately began searching for a church to serve in. A mere two weeks after returning from summer missions, I was called as Minister to Students at Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston. This was it! It was just the beginning for me to start making a difference in the lives of teenagers, much like my youth pastor made a difference in my life. My wife and I served at Parker for a year and a half. We are currently searching and praying for where God would have us to serve next!
