One of the most memorable experiences of my life was being in Berlin when the Wall came down in 1989. I was in the Air Force working as a linguist and intelligence reporter for the NSA in the 1980’s during the cold war.

My name is Scott Innes and I’m a Sales Associate with Island Sotheby's International Realty on Maui. I was born in Berkeley California in 1963 and grew up in Lafayette, 35 miles east of San Francisco. I’m a Native American and a member of the St. Regis Mohawk tribe in Upstate New York.

I first came to Maui in 1986. I fell in love with it here because it was the most beautiful of anyplace I’ve ever been. One of my favorite areas is upcountry where the weather is perfect year-round with incredible views. South Maui has the great beaches, water sports, and snorkeling. West Maui has the Kaanapali Resort with Kaanapali beach named America’s Best beach in 2003, Kapalua with views of Molokai and Lanai, and the history and culture of Lahaina, the first capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

I went to Georgia State University and got my BBA in Marketing in 1991. My first job after college was as a sales rep for a worldwide tour operator, Globus and Cosmos. I moved over to American Hawaii Cruises and after that Crystal Cruises. I brought 2-3 groups of travel agents to Hawaii every year on familiarization trips. That’s when I fell in love with Maui.

I ‘ve been a realtor since 2001. I got my license in Atlanta after I was laid off from my travel industry job following 9/11. After I moved to Maui Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, Hawaii’s Largest Helicopter tour operator hired me as Director of Sales and Marketing. I pursued real estate part-time for my first four years here.

I love helping people find their dream home. Every time I help a client I feel like I’m doing it with them. I get as excited as they are about their purchase.

South Maui is where I specialize – Kihei, Wailea, Makena as well as Upcountry & Central Maui and in Wailuku. I’ve worked with clients in other areas in Lahaina and Kaanapali on the West side and on other Hawaiian Islands.

I owe the expertise to my past experiences both inside and outside of real estate. I’ve sold different types of properties including beachfront homes, resort condos, investor properties, multi-unit vacation rental businesses and vacant land for development and entitlements. I was awarded Hawaii’s top 100 Agents in 2012 in sales among 11,000 Hawaii agents.
