Scott Martinez
First and foremost, I am a musician. I play bass guitar primarily and some guitar and piano. I am in love with listening to, writing and playing music of my own making, and listening to music from others that is truly inspired.
My other passion is in my recording studio, where I have really found myself on this earth - helping other musicians achieve their dreams, and learning TONS in the process. I founded a record company too, with bands from the US and Europe, and I have international distribution.
What else am I made of? Some might call me a Renaissance Man. Some might call me a "jack of all trades, master of none". All together in my life I have been in the culinary field for 25 years; where I have worked my way up from dishwasher to classically trained Executive Chef, owning my own catering business in CA until 2004. I am also a gardener involved in canning and preserving food, I have made my own bacon, ham, maple syrup. I have raised chickens. I work on my own vehicles. I built my recording studio from scratch, soldering, doing electrical, carpentry, wall-finishing and painting. I am into landscaping and home improvement in general. I am also quite computer literate and can tear apart and put together a PC. I also do computer graphics, and I can carry a tune.
I also conquered Alcohol; being a former practicing alcoholic, being sober since Jan. 12, 2007. I'm very proud of this and not embarassed of it in the least. I'm still an alcoholic and always will be, but I have fortunately shifted my interest and addiction to less debilitating and life-threatening practices, with all of the same passion and perseverence! I almost died of this disease in 2007, so everything I do now until the universe claims me back, is a bonus. I hope my experience and example will help other Alcoholics and Addicts that are still suffering.
What else about me? Most importantly, I am in love with a gorgeous woman with two wonderful kids whom I have the profound privilege of helping to instill and teach some of what I have learned in this world. Mostly just the good stuff, I hope!
