Trained as a journalist, motivated by business and excited by technology, my passion is a disruptive, do-it-first approach that connects consumers with content and services. Right now I do that at This Old House, but I’ve also worked for GQ, Esquire, Details, Polo, Cablevision and other marquee brands across verticals and platforms, including desktop and mobile web, television, print and digital magazines and books, social media and other brand extensions. As you can tell, I'm a bit of a geek and more work obsessed than I want to be.
I love to excite people around newly discovered opportunities, such as a recent YouTube aggregation strategy for corporate parent, Time Inc., a mobile-first hyper-social digital portal to reach millennial women called TheSnug.com, and a foray into the Latino market with a soon-to-premiere TV show, SOS: Salve Mi Casa, on Telemundo. Confession: I don't speak Spanish. Perhaps just un poco.
When not tending my urban garden or building Lego skyscrapers with my three year old, I’ve been an explorer and early adopter of blog networks, mobile publishing, contextual e-commerce, events businesses, branded video games, page activation and augmented reality, geo-fencing, brand licensing, social photo publishing and disintermediating technologies such as e-learning, and open-web platforms as well as garbage picking. Honest.
A frequent conference speaker, identifier of business-changing partnerships, and bloodhound for acquisition opportunities, my record of innovation and legacy-media reinvention is well known. Just show me a white space, and I’ll find a sensible business to fill it. Unless I'm busy watching original Scooby Doo re-runs.
