Stephen Cotton

Stephen Cotton began shooting action photography shortly after beginning formal training in My Jhong Law Horn Kung Fu at the age of 12 in 2000. Studying under Grandmaster Johnny Kwong Ming Lee in the Dallas branch of Lee's White Leopard, Stephen added Fu style Ba Gua to his curriculum in 2003. Stephen has covered many events through the Kung Fu school, ranging from demonstrations, tournaments, and parties, including the Association's annual Chinese New Year banquet that hosts 500+ attendees including Masters, Black Belts, and international VIPs.

Stephen endeavors to capture not only the spirit of the practitioner through action photography, but to display the moments spent before and after going on stage in order to show the humor and character of these people who have dedicated years of their lives to an art that few understand or truly appreciate. It is through the lens of his own studies and the years of experience working with the Team White Leopard demo team that has provided Stephen with the opportunity to gain a unique outlook on how to capture and present the spirit of Martial Arts.
