With more than two decades of experience in television news, Scott Pickey started his career as a news anchor and worked his way up to news director. He studied communication arts and journalism at Christian Brothers University in Memphis then spent two years as a 5pm anchor, producer, and reporter for KTVO-TV, an ABC affiliate in Kirksville, Missouri. Scott Pickey next served as a news director and anchor for KQTV-TV in St. Joseph, Missouri, then transitioned to news directing and producing at his next station. More recently he served as news director and production supervisor at El Paso’s KDBC-TV, taking over operations while the station went through bankruptcy proceedings; he next served as news director and director of digital online content for WWAY-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Outside of work, Scott Pickey is an avid golfer and enjoys the many courses around southeast North Carolina. He also enjoys traveling and has visited most of the states in the country and once drove from Alaska to Memphis. Internationally, he has visited London, Paris, and Canada.
