Scott Skinner
Scott Skinner has been a dedicated kitemaker, flier, collector, teacher, and philanthropist of the sport with the Drachen Foundation in Seattle for three decades, but in recent years he has concentrated on a new aspect of kiting. He has dedicated himself to creating art kites -- kites emphasizing beauty and originality. Scott began this process of making art kites with the inspiration to marry traditional American quilt designs with Japanese kite shapes and motifs. He is inspired by kites from China, Bali, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia and Guatemala.
Scott is President of the Drachen Foundation and has written several books on kiting. He is also a regular contributer to Kitelife Magazine and Discourse: From the End of the Line, the quarterly publication of the Drachen Foundation. He lives in Colorado.
