Scott Scurfield
As a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, Attorney Scott Scurfield has always upheld his commitment to the law. Over more than 20 years of practice, he has helped countless clients resolve their issues. Beginning his career in Somerset, Pennsylvania, Scott Scurfield worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the County while managing and practicing law for his own firm, Ogle, Policicchio, Frantz & Scurfield. As Assistant Public Defender, Mr. Scurfield was responsible for maintaining a work load of hundreds of cases. More than half of those that went to trial resulted in not-guilty verdicts. In 2000, Scott Scurfield moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he started as an Associate and eventually became a Partner at Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P., where he handled the defense of individuals and businesses insured by major companies such as Zurich, Travelers, and MetLife as a member of the firm's liability defense team, representing defendants in motor vehicle, product, and employer liability claims. Just over five years later, he joined McAngus Goudelock & Courie LLC, working in a similar capacity. In 2009, Mr. Scurfield spent a year helping Leone Noble & Seate set up a bankruptcy practice before joining Riddle & Brantley, LLP, to represent Social Security Disability claimants. In his short time there, he has already assisted hundreds of clients in obtaining their benefits. He has also successfully resolved dozens of automobile, slip and fall, and other premises liability cases.
