Small Business Owner, Non-Profit Founder, and Mother in Cumming, GA

Hi! I’m Scout, founder and head baker of Scout’s Sourdough, a self-taught sourdough bakery that I built from the ground up into my full-time career.

What began as a way to work from home after becoming a mom quickly evolved into a thriving business and my primary source of income. In the past year alone, Scout’s Sourdough has grown by over 80%, fueled by intentional branding, community connection, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Running this business has allowed me to merge creativity, strategy, and discipline, turning a passion into a sustainable, scalable operation.

Before sourdough, entrepreneurship was already in my blood. At just 21, I founded Kibble 2 Care, a nonprofit providing pet food and veterinary resources to low-income families across Georgia, receiving my 501(c)(3) status on my birthday. I later worked as a veterinary technician, experiences that shaped my leadership style and deepened my commitment to service.

Today, alongside growing Scout’s Sourdough, I remain actively involved in the nonprofit space and love teaching and speaking about small business growth, entrepreneurship, and building something meaningful from scratch. I’m currently preparing to relaunch Kibble 2 Care with a renewed vision, applying everything I’ve learned as a business owner to increase its impact and sustainability. I’m also pursuing a degree in Business Management at Kennesaw State University.

My work and story have been featured by 11Alive, Forsyth County News, Dawson County News, Chevy New Roads Magazine, CanvasRebel, and VoyageATL.

Whether I’m baking bread, building businesses, or supporting community initiatives, my mission is the same: create with purpose, grow with intention, and give back generously. I’m always excited to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, creatives, and community builders. Let’s build something great together.
