Biography
Arguably one of the best DJ's to come out of Ohio. Scratch Johnson(also known a DJ Drastic Ohio) is a 21 year veteran in the pro DJ world.
At the age of 15 his first performances were in 1992 as well as djing his first block party that same year.
In 1994, while working at the Groove Shack record store, in the Short North District in Columbus, Ohio, Scratch Johnson learned how to mix and blend records and entered his first DJ Battle at Groove Shack in 1995. This led him to become the house DJ for the local televised famous Groove Shack open mic night and becoming the music producer for the “Live and Direct” Hip Hop show. He also taught a dj class at The Ohio State University at the same time djing parties down the street at the Short Stop teen center. While djing house parties, weddings, elementary, middle and high school functions as well as clubs, local bars and art shows there isn't anything this dj cant handle. Voted 2008 Ohio Hip Hop Awards Turntablist of the year with nominations every year to date. 4 time Dj Battle Champion at the BHB Hip Hop Expo in Columbus, Ohio. Doing his first Community Festival at age 14 Scratch Johnson has performed at this huge event for over 15 years to date. Recently doing production work, djing with Live Bands, Weddings, scratching hooks and touring for artists such as Copywrite whose Album God Save the King charting billboard top 100 hip hop charts 2012. Tage Future, Jakki (all of "MHZ" fame), Planet Asia, J Rawls, Killah Priest, Del, Casual, Evidence, Dilated Peoples, Roc Marciano, Motion Man, just to name a few. Scratch Johnson recently toured the west coast on the “Up All Night” Tour with Copywrite, Planet Asia, Tristate, and Timestretch. Rocking San Francisco, Los Angeles, Mesa, and Yuma, Arizona. Drastic just released his first Ep entitled "Ear Progression" (on iTunes). While still finding time to operate his own Internet Radio station. Scratch Johnson is known to play different types of music. Hip Hop, Rock, Dance, R&B, anything. Whatever the people want, he'll play it. He just does it with a hip hop feel.
