SD Nishanka is an accomplished Research, Design & Development Entrepreneur, a Photographer and a Film Maker based in Berlin.
Nish works on projects across Asia-Pacific & Europe concentrating on architectural design, interior design, brand design, social advocacy campaigns, nation branding campaigns, socio political strategy, business strategy, investment promotion strategy, photography and films.
With over 20 years of experience in senior management in the areas of research, design and development, having contributed towards the growth of heterogeneous organisations, Nish setup BYNISH, a global design consulting initiative that focuses on Asia Pacific region, creating design solutions that can transform brands, businesses, organisations, nations and individuals.
Over the years Nish acquired unique & comprehensive work experience in rare combination of sectors that include private conglomerates, multinational brands, unilateral & multilateral development agencies, governments, United Nations and The European Union.
Previously he founded REDLIME, an award winning research & design firm, which is now acquired by TCMOL Group. Prior to this, he was the Group Creative Director of the Maharaja Group, one of the largest private conglomerates in Asia.
He is also currently working on 2 books, one of them about fleeing as a child refugee, consequences of ethnic war and rising above it.
Nish is married to Dr. Ulrike Hopp, a Senior Policy Advisor with the German Government, and they have two sons Alexander and Aaron.
