I am a recent graduate, having just earned my Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (or as some have taken to calling it recently, The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai). In my 13 years of research experience, I have had the opportunity to investigate a wide range of fascinating neurobiological questions! How does stress impact the regions of our brain necessary for learning and memory formation? Is it possible that developmental rewiring of neural circuits can lead one to develop schizophrenia? Finally, and most recently, how does chronic exposure to morphine and other opiates result in lasting changes in the reward circuitry of the brain and result in addiction? When I'm not in a research lab, I am an avid long distance cyclist, a pilot, a musician, and an amateur photographer with professional aspirations!
