Consultant in Portland, Oregon
The latest adventure for Sean is serving as Director of Instructional Technology for Riverdale School District in Portland, Oregon.
Sean taught biology online at La Entrada, an independent study high school, after teaching third and fourth grade for Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. He also worked as adjunct faculty for the University of La Verne School of Teaching and Educational Leadership teaching face to face as well as online for several years before moving north.
Sean works with fellow teachers to incorporate technology in a meaningful way to their lessons to improve teaching and learning across Oregon through ORVSD. Sean is still a trainer and consultant for the Orange County Department of Education and presents at educational conferences throughout the nation as well as internationally.
Sean helped to bring the first Edcamp to California and continues to be actively involved in educational technology events throughout California and now Oregon.
Over the years Sean became a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer, a Google Certified Teacher, a MicroSoft Innovative Educator, and some other nifty titles. Recently Sean started working with iNACOL by teaching Leading Edge Certification classes for teachers who want to transition to teaching partially or fully online. He also works with Common Sense Media as the only certified trainer in Oregon.
Sean earned his Bachelors degree in Human Behavior from National University and continued his education to include a Masters Degree in Education with CLAD certification, a preliminary Tier I Administrative Credential, and a single subject credential in Biology.
