Sean Tobin

Sean has been busy in the Singapore's Theatre and Education landscape since 1993 and is currently the Artistic Director of M1 Singapore Fringe Festival, and Head of Theatre at School Of The Arts (SOTA), Singapore.

Sean has collaboratively written and directed Tongues (Published by Math Paper Press, 2012) and What Did You Learn Today? (2011), both M1 Singapore Fringe Festival commissions. His most recent work is The Perfection of 10, a commission by Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay, as part of the Esplanade Studio series, a collaboration with 10 playwrights.

His past directing works include Together Together (Esplanade Flipside commission, 2009), Such Sweet Sorrow (The Necessary Stage, Written by Haresh Sharma, 2004), Sing Song (TNS, with Natalie Hennedige, 2004), Oh Man! (TNS, 2003), Fires Within Fires (TNS, 2003) ‘Close - In My Face’(TNS, 2002), ‘8 Addictions’ (TNS, with Jeff Chen, 2002) and Fattytude (TOUCH Arts, 1998).

Sean was Associate Artistic Director with The Necessary Stage (2001-2004) and Associate Artistic Director with now defunct TOUCH Arts (1996-2000). He was formerly Artistic Director of M1 Theatre Connect (2002-2004), The Necessary Community Festival (2001), On The Verge (1999) and Spoke '98 (1998). Sean was also the Artistic Director for School of the Arts' SOTA Arts Festival (2011).

Sean performed in Eleanor Wong’s Initial Conditions by Cake Theatre (2015), DRAMATISED READING Gender and Sexuality (2015), The Perfection of 10 (2012), Tongues (2012), Revelations (2003), True Deep Blue by Tri Arts (2000).
