Joon's adventure begins when he finds himself in Ben Shachar's wagon, myteriously named The Black Mess, where nothing is quite as it seems.

Master of this travelling circus of animals and angels, his devilish new employer sends our hero on a quest for nothing less than gin, and a banjo.

Struck by the oddity of his task, he is lead through a hallucinatory cast of characters in a town where the drains overflow with dying souls and the whores keep the stolen hearts of sailors in a display cabinet.

In this black fairytale will Joon find the spirit he needs, and more importantly discover what part he is to play in Shachar's grand show?
