I've worked for many years as a sysadmin with server systems running on Windows Server, Unix/Linux and networking components such as Cisco routers and HP Procurve switches secured with VLan technology.

I've been part of projects to implement and manage secure e-Mail communication across 19 countys in Norway, using Exchange Server and VPN's from Checkpoint, and other team projects on regional and national level.

I've worked with Checkpoint solutions, Trend Micro Security Solutions, been part of several Microsoft Active Directory projects and cross platform Linux/Samba solutions. I've also managed electronic document solutions based on C# and .Net.
I got a security clearance at "NATO Secret" level when working with sensitive data at the County Governors Office.

I'm mainly "self-taught" in the industry, but I've completed several courses and some one-year studies in the fields of computer security, systems management and programming.

I'm now working as a software developer, creating business applications using C++ and the C# / .Net framework. I'm also investigating how to include some Python via IronPython into the mix.

These days I'm updating my C++ skills to cover C++11 and the new Standard Library. I also spend some time with the C++ Qt framework, developed Trolltech, then purchased by Nokia, now owned and developed by Digia.

I'm also passionate about CGI, like 3D and animation.
Off course, being a developer opens up a whole new world with this kind of applications, as they all deliver pretty decent API's!

Lately I've started to investigate "Big Data" solutions and how to program systems for analyzing large amounts of unstructured data with tools like Hadoop and Azure. I find this very interesting indeed. Services like Amazon Cloud https://aws.amazon.com/ is also on my list of "need to know" technology.
