I have this cool thing going where I keep getting thrust into situations that I have no business of being in. This includes, but is not limited to, collegiate cheerleading. That’s right, I managed to do it kids, I snuck my way into a group of immensely talented people with just the bare minimum. I don’t know how this happened. Call it the Segrest charm, that’s my last name kind of like Ryan Seacrest, except I’m actually going to graduate from this school. My first name is Stephen but that’s also my dad’s name so I chose Graham. Graham like the crackers, which similar to my cheerleading skill are fairly overrated and crumble under pressure. This isn’t me saying that I’m bad because I’m not, I’m just moderately underwhelming. I think the way that I’ve come so far in life and in cheerleading is a combination of luck and faking it until I make it. Faking it until I make it is literally the way I live my life. It’s a passion, it’s a dream, it’s who I am at a basic moral level. And those who try and discount it should note: I got into the same school you did. I think the whole faking it thing is why I got into cheerleading, because even when you are smiling and waving to a crowd you can think about anything- taxes, homework, butts. So that’s me, faker, dog lover, dawg lover, banana pepper enthusiast, but mostly, a cheerleader.
