Segun Abiri

Segun Daniel Abiri is an education entrepreneur, development practitioner, and public-sector professional committed to expanding access to quality learning and lifelong empowerment opportunities across Nigeria. He has built a multidimensional career at the intersection of education, innovation, policy, and community impact.
He is the Founder of Efiko Edutech Ltd, an education-technology venture focused on connecting learners with qualified tutors and learning centres through a mobile-first digital marketplace. He also serves as Chairman, Governing Council at both the Institute of Non-Formal Education Practitioners (INFEP) and Senior Partner, Segun Abiri Consulting.
He holds an ATS ICAN training from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and currently running his PGDE. Segun is a certified Project Management Professional-PRINCE2®️(Axelos®️ – UK), and a Certificate in PMP-PMI®️ - USA. He is a YALI RLC West Africa Alumni, and Change Ambassador of Peace & Humanity (CAPH) of YELI/Yeshua International Italy.
He is passionate about social change. Segun has several published and unpublished articles to his name including "ABC of Adult Education for Practitioners" and has participated in national and international conferences, including eLearning Africa Kigali Rwanda, and YALI RLC Accra Ghana.
Segun’s early work in the non-profit sector led to the establishment of Ladewin Initiative, a community-based organization dedicated to adult literacy, non-formal education, youth development, and vocational empowerment. His programs have supported learning access for underserved groups and strengthened community participation in education.
In public service, he works with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), contributing to national efforts aimed at expanding equitable higher education financing and building efficient structures for loan administration, quality assurance, and repayment management.
A graduate of Adekunle Ajasin University with further training in ICT, project management, HR strategy, and multiple professional development programs, he is currently hold a Postgradute Diploma in Education (PGDE), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Segun is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Human Resources and Strategic Management (FCIHRSM); Member of the National Institute of Management.
Across all his roles, he is driven by a belief in inclusive education, community transformation, and the power of lifelong learning to unlock human potential. He continues to build initiatives, partnerships, and platforms that bridge knowledge gaps and create pathways for social mobility.
