Seif Atyia

Seif Atyia is currently attending the University of Tennessee in pursuit of his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Spanish. He is from Johnson City, TN, but his family is originally from Cairo, Egypt. Four of his uncles, including the two currently living Egypt, and his mother are doctors which has pushed him to strive for medical school.

In his pursuit of medical school, Atyia has held multiple positions in the medical field to gain valuable experience. This includes an internship at Jonesborough Medical, a volunteer position with Clinic Vols, and his current job as a scribe around the Knoxville area in Parkwest, Fort Loudon, Roane, and Methodist Medical Centers. He plans to apply to medical school this summer and attend in the fall of 2014.

Being Egyptian, Arabic was Atyia's first language with English as a close second. This background in languages inspired a Spanish minor to learn a third language. In his free time, Atyia enjoys riding his bicycle around Knoxville in addition to spending time with his friends.
