A Chicago native, I moved to Los Angeles in 1997 to pursue screenwriting for independent short and feature films. I also became one of the founding volunteers of WriteGirl, a nonprofit mentorship organization of professional women writers empowering teenage girls.

In 2000, I became the victim of a violent crime, leading me first to begin my study of Ninjutsu, and then to founding the self defense program Pretty Deadly Self Defense in 2009.

I relocated to Paris in 2010, where I also launched the art podcast "Artipoeus: art you can hear".

Since 2016 I am based in Berlin and continue to publish and perform my work as presentations, audio production and art installations, and develop Pretty Deadly Self Defense.
