Kamogelo Sekwati

My story is shaped by my passion for teaching and the meaningful connections I build with my learners my teaching philosophy advocates for learners being empowered and confident in their own learning and becoming active citizens who can contribute positively to the society. Through my lens of a 21st century teacher, I see learners as active participants rather than being passive in their learning. I strive to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where learners are encouraged to think critically, collaborate and communicate effectively. Beyond the classroom my interest are community service, travelling and knitting, my interests allow me to connect with diverse people and contribute to my community, these interests also shape who I am as a student teacher by strengthening my confidence, communication skills, creativity and ability to inspire others. As an education student at the University of Johannesburg, I have learned that being a 21st century teacher means continuously learning, adapting and using both personal passions and professional skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the learners.
