Her determination for African languages as her specialisation was because of the experiences she encountered and how they influenced her to become an ideal agent of transformation. We (as African languages teachers) tend to resort to only several methods of teaching, and often times the strategies that has to do with traditional way of teaching and learning. Her concern was mainly based on the issues articulating native languages. ‘Am I gonna be the change that I intend to see or follow in the footsteps of what I consider banking model of education as per Paulo Freire stated!‘ Pursuing Neurodevelopmental learning needs had to be the best decision that given the circumstance that most teachers have no background knowledge about how neurons and brain functions and the impact it could have on learners as a barrier. It was a great adventure but most importantly a necessity module to all the teaching practitioners. You are not only having an exposure to Neurodevelopment disorders such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual impairment, etc ; you also get to know and how to practice inclusivity and identify the learners in need.
