Selin Sakarcan

Podiatric physician and foot and ankle surgeon Selin Sakarcan served as Student President while being a House Delegate of the American Podiatric Medical Student Association. She was also the president of the Turkish Student Association and a public relations officer at the American Medical Student Association at Temple University. She was recently accepted to the Harvard Macy Institute for the 2020 Program for Postgraduate Trainees: Future Academic Clinician Educators.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Selin Sakarcan grew up in a Turkish-American home. She is proud of her Turkish heritage, learning about the culture and language at home. But aside from English and Turkish, she was also inspired to learn French. She took French as a major in college, along with neuroscience focusing on cellular and molecular neuroscience.

Anathlete, Selin Sakarcan has participated in the Disney Princess Half Marathon,Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, Lululemon SeaWheeze 2020 Half Marathon, and Rock'n Roll Half Marathons. At present, the podiatric physician is working on startinga nonprofit in New Haven, Connecticut, called Back On My Feet
