Semiha Unal

I was raised in the Netherlands and live in Turkey since 1985. In 2009 I decided to set up my own business S4U-Solutions for You. S4U provides business support to foreign companies during the process of entering the Turkish market, establishing a presence, strategic alliances and Merger & Acquisition transactions between foreign and Turkish companies.

Prior to this I worked for a huge manufacturing company as the Head of Research, Planning and Coordination Department. During my career of more than 20 years, I gained experience in the manufacturing and service industry and have been managing several international cross-functional projects. Besides, I was the founding partner of a limited company in the health care industry and contributed to the establishment of a joint-stock company.

I hold a Master of Business Administration degree of the State University of New York / Empire State College and a Bachelor Business Administration in Management from the Anadolu University. I speak English and Dutch very well.

Besides my business activities I like socializing and networking, work together with those whose share the same passion with me; helping others and sharing knowledge. I'm Vice President for an association encouraging women to become entrepreneurs namely Kadinlar Arası Dernegi. Moreover, I'm a member of TurkishWIN (Turkish Women's International Network), member of IPWIN (International Women in Istanbul) and member of Dutch Assosiation in Istanbul.

Selected experiences include:

-Market research and feasibility study for several Dutch companies to assist their entry in Turkey.

-Founding partner of a Limited company active in the manufacturing and marketing of health care products.

-Project management of the prototype chassis production of a USD 6 million worth order of General Motors Electric Motor Division locomotives.

-In the advisory and evaluation team composed by the Minister of Transportation for the establishment of a joint-stock company in the high-tech railway industry.

-Initiated and managed the project to start a strategic partnership of a Turkish and well-known multinational company.

-Advisory to several foreign companies to start business with their counterparts in Turkey.
