Talking about boring stuff, My background is in IT. I attended the University of Calabria where I studied IT engineering, but in 2006 I decided to quit to start my own company. When I was younger, I would have been considered a geek: I used to hack everything, from software to phones to home appliances, etc. Then my interest moved to the visual arts and I worked for several years in graphic design, 2D graphics, video production, and 3D graphics.
Right now my passion and interests are in the fields of education, technology, and digital communication. For the last eight years, I have been in charge of a company developing software for educational purposes (such as the pedagogical game/tool of the Italian Space Agency), interactive urban installations (both artistic and for entertainment purposes), as well as several advertising campaigns for TV and web. Previously I was the CTO for Almost2, a company located in Rolling Hills Estates, Los Angeles, CA.
My long-term professional goal is to make a lasting impact in education.
In my personal life I like solo hiking, camping, and roller-skating. I also used to be a volleyball player in a semi-pro series. I love Alanis Morissette, Ludovico Einaudi, Erykah Badu, Jazz, and 2Step. Last June I traveled the Camino di Santiago. I'll make it to Burning Man sooner or later. I plan to fly over the South Pole with a hang glider and to travel throughout South Asia. I also plan to live for a while in the Amazon rainforest.
