J. Johnson

I was born to two Bohemians in Paris, France as the Fifties drew to a close. At my core, I'm an Ohio boy who grew up during the British Invasion, and decided eventually that there was no better course for myself than to scurry to the East Coast and go to music school.

Playing rock and roll doesn't always pay the bills. I hustled for gigs here and there, and my resume begins with scattershot jobs - grill cook, security guard, stage electrician, paste-up artist, proofreader - until I met the Macintosh. Everything changed after that, and computers became my life and livelihood.

I am still a musician, songwriter and composer, but I make my living as a rich media designer/developer. When I step away from the hum of electricity, I take photographs, paint and cook.
