A Heartfelt Business ....
When Seniors Helping Seniors® founder, Kiran Yocom, first started to grow her business nearly 15 years ago she used to tell people, “I don’t care how many degrees you have on your wall…what I care about is what is in your heart.”
Yocom is changing the way business is done in . She’s putting heart into it. Her company, which provides nonmedical in-home services for older adults by older adults, is dedicated to doing good AND making money. “You can have both,” says Yocom. “It is absolutely possible for us to be able to fill our souls and our pockets at the same time.”
Yocom should know. Raised in , she worked for many years with Mother Teresa, who was known for generating monetary contributions for her Sisters of Charity wherever she went. In fact, Yocom says, Mother Teresa was her role model and her inspiration for how to build a business – with great love and care.
Her clear vision is focused on love – for both the growing number of older adults and families her company serves and for every person who is a part of her Seniors Helping Seniors® community. “Our business is love,” says Yocom. “If we don’t have love for each other, what do we really have?”
“I started Seniors Helping Seniors® services as a mission to fill a need that was not being served by our own community – in our own backyard. Today, our nearly 200 franchise partners throughout the country recognize it as a way to serve others and to profit themselves. It is truly a heartfelt win for everyone.”
