I believe in the power of expression. Whether it’s an outfit, a powerpoint, or the vibes resonating from your Spotify playlist, I believe that we have a personal responsibility to share our perspectives with the world.
I am a cancer survivor. The son of Chilean immigrants that left everything behind for the mere prospect of a better future. I am the seven-year old who helped his mom clean an office every day after school and the guy who hosted his own TV show in high school. While life has been far from easy, I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything. My particular experiences are a perfect reflection of who I am today. I am passionate, humble, diligent, and most of all, proud of my origins and the challenges that I have overcome. When I’m not working, you can find me perfecting a Paella in the kitchen, training for the next half-marathon, creating the perfect playlist for any occasion, meditating, or pretending to be Johnny Cash on the karaoke stage.
Currently, I am a Patient Outreach Intern at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a Master’s of Health Administration student at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Upon graduation, I hope to merge my interests in pediatric healthcare with my obsessive enthusiasm for communications. I believe that healthcare has yet to fully embrace and reap the benefits of the current social outreach models at our disposal. Consequently, I want to be a game changer. I want to be a part of the revolution that modernizes the concept of healthcare and connects it to the rapidly integrated world that we live in today.
I enduringly believe that every day is a gift. Days that are meant to be filled with a diverse palette of tastes, beliefs, and perspectives. There is innate beauty in discovering those little obsessions that keep us up at night and blending them with our unique talents. Life is better lived “con sabor!”
