Serah Nderitu

Serah is passionate about where Africa is going and the path it takes to get there.
She is a climate and development practitioner with more than 15 years' experience across climate adaptation, renewable energy, water, and agribusiness in Africa. She currently serves as a Managing Director at the Global Innovation Fund (GIF), where she leads the Kenya office and the climate portfolio, backing innovators building adaptation and resilience solutions for the people most exposed to climate risk.
Her career has moved between research, policy, and capital: advising cleantech start-ups and shaping sector regulation at the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC); supporting innovators and researchers at the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); running climate programmes and youth initiatives at the Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF); and managing adaptation innovation programmes at the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA).
She believes innovation and entrepreneurship will carry much of the weight of Africa's development, and she is happiest working with the enterprises doing it. She builds strategic networks easily and engages widely across government, private sector, academia, and civil society.
