Serena Nguyen is a fourth year student at Ryerson University, from the School of Creative Industries, specializing in media business and storytelling in media. Creative, ambitious, organized and a natural leader with extensive experience in event planning and community organization.

After exploring several realms of the creative sector, Serena had noticed a continuous pattern of a lack of Asian presence in these industries. She continued to ponder and began to think of reasons as to why this was--until she had her "aha!" moment.

Serena realized that many Asian identifying creatives often face the same kinds of barriers when entering the creative industries. Whether it be the fear of the fluctuating market or even familial or cultural rejection-- many of us often share the same story. Serena has made it her mission to create a platform that works to embrace, celebrate and acknowledge the unique talents Asian identifying creatives have to offer. Collaborating with three of her closest friends with the same drive to inspire social change; they have created ENSŌ.

ENSŌ's mission is to provide an inclusive platform, a community, and safe space for Asian-identifying creatives to promote and showcase their work. ENSŌ believes in promoting the diversity of Asian-identifying individuals in order to break away from assumptions and stereotypes. ENSO aims to bring together different communities under one roof to celebrate the work of these individuals.
