Sergio Garcia (Real Estate)
Real Estate Sales Manager in Highland, Indiana
As a young man, Indiana resident Sergio Garcia bought his childhood home, a three-flat in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood that had fallen into disrepair. He then set about renovating the property, and just eight years later he sold the home for more than 18 times what he had paid for it initially. With this sale, Sergio Garcia began his career in real estate. Following a long and successful career as a real estate investor in the Chicago metropolitan area, Sergio Garcia relocated to Indiana, where he attended college. He continued to invest in real estate and within the first two years of his arrival in northwest Indiana, Garcia had already renovated more than 50 properties, many of which he maintained as rental properties. Sergio Garcia has described the real estate market in northwest Indiana as "a gold mine for rehab investments." In 2006 alone, he sold more than 250 properties. When the housing bubble burst a few years ago, Garcia found a lucrative market in investing in foreclosed properties. He continues to buy and renovate an average of six homes per month. Sergio Garcia earned his Bachelor of Science from Hyles-Anderson College, an independent Baptist institution located in Crown Point, Indiana. He views his vocation as a calling, often selling properties at half the market value. An avid fan of sports and outdoor activities, Sergio Garcia enjoys hunting, golfing, and playing baseball and basketball.
