Public Service in the United States

Read my blog

One week after graduating high school, I arrived at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island on my path to becoming a United States Marine. The year was 2004, and the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq were in full bloom. I would graduate boot camp, and within seven months I would find myself engaged in combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as an 0311 (infantry). I would deploy a total of three times to Iraq, and in 2008, be Honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. Fast forward to today, and I have been everything from a full time Emergency Medical Technician, to a firefighter, and now a cop. I've spent my life dedicated to serving the public and society, and have always been told that I should write down my experiences. So, welcome to the dark world of a night shift street cop; one who is still haunted by memories of lives not saved, suicides, deadly car accidents, deadly fires, and war.
