Seth Hall

Fort Eustis, VA

Hi, my name is Seth Hall and I’m a Surface Warfare Officer; basically, I’m the US Navy’s equivalent of a general manager on a warship. My wife, Callie, is an active duty officer in the Army’s Judge Advocate General Corps, which is a fancy way of saying that she is a military lawyer. We have a beautiful 18 month old daughter, Caroline, who is the center of our respective worlds. The annual Army-Navy football game is a big deal in our household.
As a naval officer, I navigated a $1.4B amphibious assault ship with personal responsibility for $55M worth of missile systems and radars. Additionally, I was accountable for the health, morale, and welfare of 50 direct reports. During two deployments, I navigated the warship from South America to the Middle East. One week before my second deployment, my wife gave birth to our daughter. The following nine months of the deployment were difficult, but I was able to forge a closer bond with my sailors who had children because I was credible to them as a leader.
I am resigning my active duty commission to begin a career in business. My wife is accepting an assignment to Fort Hood, Texas. Our families live in Oklahoma and Texas so this is an opportunity for us to build a home in Texas for the long-term. My goal is to attain an MBA from McCombs so that I can effect positive change for society as a business leader in the energy industry.
