Lorena Olvera-Moreno, MEd is a doctoral candidate and a sexuality educator for the past 8 years. Originally from Mexico, Lorena came to the United States with a Fulbright scholarship in 2012. In Mexico, she worked at the high school and college level, teaching human sexuality courses and developing sexuality curricula. She has presented workshops at national and international sexuality conferences. Lorena has volunteered at Planned Parenthood, where she facilitated a program for the Latino community of Norristown.

Her interest in the media has motivated her to work as a host on educational radio and television shows about sex in Mexico as well as in Philadelphia, where she currently hosts “EduSex Phila” in Philatinos Radio (www.philatinos.com). She holds a Spanish-language educational Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/sexpresatetv/) with more than 135,000 followers, where she writes about sexuality, gender equality, and relationships.

Lorena was a co-chair for the National Sex Ed Conference in 2016 and has also worked as a volunteer at the Mexican Consulate of Philadelphia, facilitating workshops in condom use, HIV prevention, and contraception.
