Sexton Place

Sexton Place developing housing options for sex offenders. We focus on long-term, permanent housing only for sex offenders. >> Public Benefit By grouping sex offenders in one place, they are easier for law enforcement to manage and track. In addition, housing is one of the biggest issues for sex offenders (job/employment being another). Homeless sex offenders are harder to track and manage. In addition, being homeless is highly stressful for everyone. When sex offenders are stressed, they are more likely to re-offend (commit another sex crime). So being in stable housing reduces the stress, making them stable, track-able, manageable, employable and much less likely to re-offend. >> Law Enforcement Benefit Grouping sex offenders together makes them easier to manage. Various law enforcement agencies (police, probation officers, sheriff, parole officers, prison administration, sex crimes officers, state troopers, etc., can meet at one location to check on sex offenders, look at available housing, release an offender, pick up an offender, conduct investigations, perform random drug screening, etc. >> Sex Offender Benefit The offender is able to solve the first problem upon being released - where to live. We offer clean, permanent housing at a fair price. We rent rooms to a single person (you do not share a room). Rent includes the room, utilities (electricity, gas, water, sewer, trash, etc.), a single size bed, dresser, and chair. There is a common use kitchen, bathroom and showers. Rent is $350 per month or $100 per week. There is a $100 deposit. >> What we are not We are not a halfway house, not a three-quarter-way house, not treatment facility, not a work release program, not a substance abuse facility, not a lock-up site. We are long-term housing.
