Shadi Bushra

I was born in Sudan and continue to return every few summers to visit family, photograph, and report. I am pursuing a career at the intersection of investigative reporting, multimedia journalism, and foreign affairs, and will intern at the Miami Herald this summer before going on to Reuters in September 2013. I am currently finishing my master's degree at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, concentrating in digital media as well as completing the program at the Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism.

I graduated last year from Stanford University with a BA in International Relations with honors from the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law. I also minored in Human Biology, co-chaired the student body's committee on global engagement, and was the editor-in-chief of the Stanford Progressive.

I'm most interested in finding an outlet for my photographic and journalistic endeavors.
