Shadi Rahimi is a freelance journalist currently in Cairo, Egypt. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Al Jazeera, The Huffington Post, Mother Jones, The Rolling Stone Middle East.

She has been awarded the Kathryn Davis Fellowship for Peace, the Chips Quinn Fellowship, and the Middlebury Fellowship in Environmental Journalism. For a decade she co-directed a nonprofit she co-founded, which trains youth in media production.

She is now working on her first documentary, Boys of the Bullet ولاد الخرطوش.
