Shahab Samimi is a serial entrepreneur who started his first business while still a student at SFU. Mr. Samimi brings extensive operational experience to his work in private equity & venture capital. His strong business acumen and prescient investment instincts have led to successful exits across a number of different industries.

He is currently a board member of Hypercharge Networks (TSX.V: HC).

Previously he was an investor at 7 Gate Ventures, a Vancouver & San Francisco-based multi-family office and Venture Capital firm, which participates in direct minority investments in early-stage technology companies globally. Mr. Samimi has invested in more than twenty-one early-stage software companies including Stay22, RoomVu, Reach, Tiggy, Kraken, and Little Kitchen Academy. Post-investment, he often plays an active role in supporting investees to finance their operations, export their products and grow their businesses.

Mr. Samimi has a wide-ranging and unique background, encompassing experience in all aspects of fund formation, full deal cycle, and working with early-stage startups. He was instrumental in expanding 7 Gate's presence in Canada and the United States, overseeing all aspects of direct investments and partnerships, from deal origination to execution, monitoring, and reporting.

Before working in investment management, Mr. Samimi held positions at investment banks at Gravitas Securities and Performance Capital, and he also founded three companies.

In addition, he has been involved in various industry organizations, including serving on the Young Professionals Committee of the Association of Corporate Growth and as a board member of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum (VEF). With over a decade of experience in business development, capital markets, and entrepreneurial ventures, he co-founded Pura Foods and Northstar Endurance.

Mr. Samimi has extensive experience in entrepreneurial ventures, business development, and capital markets. He has served on the Young Professionals Committee of the Association of Corporate Growth and was a board member of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum. Additionally, he co-founded Pura Foods and Northstar Endurance.

Mr. Samimi holds a master's of business administration (MBA) and a Digital Innovation Leadership certificate from the Beedie School of Business.

Shahab speaks Farsi (native), English (native) and Spanish (basic), and spends his time outside in the mountains or playing soccer.
